Dino Office Supply Kit
This concept came about due to a conversion with a friend. I was looking for items to practice modeling and they suggested scissors
While gathering references for scissors I came across mini office supply kits and got inspired to model my own supply kit. From there, I decided to theme it around one of that friend’s interest: dinosaurs, and boom dinosaur office supply kit
I created a few rough sketches for each item in the kit with a dinosaur in mind. The modeling process for most of the items when smoothly but one item challenged me to think a little more about how things work
The item was the mini stapler; it required me to think more deeply about how certain parts of an object connect. Where the metal base meets that plastic shell, how the base and magazine of stapler connect at the back, why the top shell is hollow, and the difference in where the hammer connects in a mini versus a normal stapler. This project created an amazing learning opportunity for me and pushed me to learn the importance of understanding how an object works.
