Golum: VR Game Demo 

Golum is 3D VR Game Demo, the gameplay is focused around controlling Golum, a large rock golem to fight against the main boss: Mulog.

For this group project, on the more technical side: I created rigs, fixed weight painting issues, transferred or integrated animations on to rigs, and edited UVs for lightmaps.

Once the base level layout and second environmental pass were finished, I noticed that we had lost some of the environment’s charm for the sake of optimization. So, I looked for a way to add some charm back to the environment and experimented with the ANIMtoTEXT plug in for UE5 to create performance cheap animated animals to place in the environment to add some of the life back into the level.

On the artistic side: I set up the base level flow for the redesign, redesigned characters, created props for the environment, and contributed to the environment, mostly the temple areas. 

This environment was designed by two people. Golum went through a redesign to have a better performance on stand-alone Quest and shrink the scope of the demo. At the start of the redesign, we created a new level layout to both fit the new assets and smaller scope.
